It was a hot year for tablet adoption in Canada, and museums in Canada weren’t just getting their feet wet with this new hardware – they dove in headfirst. Fuelling this trend is the fact that Canadians are accessing the Internet in different ways. A report by Adobe predicted that by 2013, tablets will generate more traffic on the Web than smartphones. But Canadian museums have also been exploring creative solutions to fulfil other areas of their mandate beyond interpretation – whether educational programming, research, collections management, or Web outreach. Here are a few tablet-based projects that caught our attention this summer season.
